* Uninterrupted Power Supply (USB) for all our web and email
   servers to provide a reliable service.

Description of the DNS Service Features

The Web Address and space

You will have your own domain name. You can access your Web Site with the following URLs:
http://www.yourdomain.com

Note: You must verify that your domain name is available. A domain name can be used. Therefore, please check with Network Solutions (or other domain registration sites) to see if your favorite domain name is available.
You have 20 MB of WebSpace as a commercial account, which can be increased.

FTP Account

Via FTP (File Transfer Protocol), you can update your pages. This works like Filemanager or Explorer. You can update the pages 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and as often as you like.

E-mail Address

BCI's basic Domain Name Service features for commercial accounts includes multiple email aliasing. This means that you can use whatever email address you want to use. For example you could use:
* webmaster@yourdomain.com
* yourname@yourdomain.com
* support@yourdomain.com
* postmaster@yourdomain.com
* etc.
All those emails will go into individual mailboxes. Get your mail with the Internet Standard Services (SMTP for outgoing mail and POP for incoming). Eudora, Pegasus Mail, and MS Internet Mail and News Clients are examples of such programs.

CGI-BIN Directory

A CGI-Bin Directory is where all interactive programs are run. (Interactive programs - such as Guestbooks, Rotating Ads, counters, etc). You can use all of these and more on your pages. If you are familiar with programming, you can even create and run your own interactive programs with CGI Scripts.

Setup Fee:
There is a $30.00 one-time setup fee for each basic Domain Hosting account. This setup fee is non-refundable.
As a customer of Bardstown/Cable Internet you will never see an extra charge for having "too many visitors".

Domain Name Fee:
If your domain name is not yet registered with an InterNIC Accredited Registrar, we will register your domain for you.
The domain name registration fee currently with Network Solutions is $70.00 for the first two years (or $35.00 per year) but there are also other plans available. We require that you pay registration and setup fees before we register your domain name.

Payment Options:
We accept Money Orders and Checks
The monthly $10 payment will be incurred on your regular monthly Internet bill.

Sign-Up Information
You may sign-up by completing a work order and filling out a form (info about the domain name and the email addresses you want) at City Hall. While your BCI Service will be ready on our end within 24-48 hours, please keep in mind that InterNIC is not always as prompt. It may take 1 to 5 business days until your account is available for viewing by the entire Internet Community. We will contact you if we need more information or clarification regarding something on your sign-up form.
